India’s Hombale Films has released a thrilling teaser for its upcoming action epic, “Salaar,” which boasts a staggering budget of $50 million. The film stars Prabhas, renowned for his role in the blockbuster “Baahubali” franchise, and is directed by Prashanth Neel, best known internationally for the successful “K.G.F.” series.
Prabhas leads an impressive ensemble cast, which includes acclaimed actors such as Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, and Shriya Reddy. The movie is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur, the driving force behind Hombale Films, based in Bangalore.
Hombale Films is no stranger to success, having produced “K.G.F.: Chapter 1” in 2018, the first Kannada-language film to achieve a pan-Indian hit status. The production house followed it up with “K.G.F.: Chapter 2,” which became India’s highest-grossing film last year, surpassing the record-breaking “RRR” by S.S. Rajamouli.
“Salaar,” slated for release on September 28, 2023, promises to be a grand cinematic experience. The film was shot in various locations across India, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It will be released in five different Indian languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi, ensuring a wide-reaching audience.
During the Indian shoot, Hombale Films constructed 14 elaborate sets at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, the heart of the Telugu film industry. Although the plot of “Salaar” remains tightly guarded, the producers have described it as offering a glimpse into an expansive universe that guarantees to captivate and enthrall audiences.

To bring this ambitious vision to life, the production has enlisted the services of international VFX studios and skilled stuntmen. The film promises to deliver high-end visual effects and breathtaking action sequences. Prabhas, known as the rebel star, will showcase his most ferocious and rawest form in “Salaar,” pushing his boundaries as an actor.
Director Prashanth Neel has masterfully crafted the film on an immense scale, matching the unprecedented budget and surpassing the magnitude of their previous collaboration, “K.G.F.: Chapter 2.”
