New Spider-Verse fan art imagines what it would look like if Miles Morales teamed up with the three live-action versions of Spider-Man. The last few years have been some of Spider-Man’s biggest ones, both in the world of live-action and animation. In 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home marked the first time Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield joined forces in the epic Phase 4 installment. This year marked the return of Miles as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse became one of the biggest hits for 2023, which even featured live-action cameos, including Garfield and Maguire.
As the Spider-Verse movies have crossed the barrier between animation and live-action, fans are now more hopeful than ever to see a proper crossover between the franchises. The ongoing theory is that the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse movie will have even more live-action presence, even though the film has currently lost its release date.
Even though Miles is confirmed to exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his live-action counterpart has yet to show up. To give a better imagination of what the animated version of what Miles would look like next to the Peter Parkers, Art of Time Travel shared new fan art of the potential crossover, which sees the four heroes ready to take on any threat.
Spider-Verse Theory Makes Miles’ Sequel Suit Secretly Heartbreaking
Will Miles Morales Ever Get Adapted Into Live-Action?
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is confirmed to be the end of Miles’ saga as the trilogy comes to a conclusion. This begs the question of whether Miles will finally make his live-action debut after his animated franchise is finished. Whether that would be in the MCU or in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, it does seem that Sony Pictures has plans for Miles in live-action.
Amy Pascal, who has worked on all the Spider-Man films over the last two decades, revealed in an interview back in May that a live-action Miles Morales movie is seemingly in development. This was right before the SAG-AFTRA strike happened, meaning that no further updates will be able to emerge until it is over. However, the fact that Miles has a move in the works is a positive sign that Sony is far from done using the character after Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Whenever the Miles Morales movie goes forward, it will be interesting to see if Sony makes it part of the MCU or has it be a standalone. The organic choice would be to have Miles finally pop up in the MCU and eventually replace Holland’s Spider-Man whenever the latter is ready to retire from the role. But for now, Miles’ future Spider-Man adventures will be held in the world of animation, regardless of what the future holds.
