Acclaimed actor John C.Reilly has been named the president of the Un Certain Regard Jury for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
Reilly, who has been a regular visitor to the French film festival over the years, expressed his delight at being given the opportunity to lead the jury for this prestigious sidebar.
“I have had so many life-changing moments at the Festival de Cannes (from my miraculous first trip with Paul Thomas Anderson to celebrating my 50th birthday from the Palais stage!)
So to be chosen as the president of Un Certain Regard Jury is truly such an incredible honor,” said Reilly in a statement.
Reilly has previously screened his films, including The Lobster, Tale of Tales and We Need to Talk About Kevin at Cannes.

The actor also noted that many of the films he has starred in have been selected by the festival over the years, and that being invited to the annual gathering is always special.
The Un Certain Regard Jury is responsible for selecting winners in various categories, including best film, best director, best performance and best screenplay, as well as a jury and Coup de Coeur prize.
Reilly will be joined on the jury by French Cambodian director and producer Davy Chou, French director and screenwriter Alice Winocour , German actress Paula Beer, and Belgian actress Émilie Dequenne
The 76th Cannes Film Festival, which will feature the Un Certain Regard sidebar, is scheduled to run from May 16-27.
With Reilly at the helm, film enthusiasts and industry insiders alike can look forward to another exciting edition of the festival, showcasing the best cinema has to offer from around the world.
