Marvel fans were thrilled to get their first glimpse of Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in the upcoming film Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds, who portrays the hilarious Merc with a Mouth, took to his Instagram stories to share a new still from the movie. The image features Reynolds’ character walking alongside Wolverine, who is dressed in his iconic black and yellow suit.

This marks Jackman’s entry into the Deadpool franchise after his portrayal of the adamantium-clawed mutant in nine films from 2000 to 2017, including the X-Men series and Logan.

The release of this first look follows the exciting news that Jennifer Garner will also be making a Marvel comeback as Elektra, reprising her role from the 2003 film Daredevil.

Directed and produced by Shawn Levy, the plot details of the Marvel threequel remain undisclosed. The script for the film was written by Reynolds, Levy, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Zeb Wells.

Joining the franchise as newcomers are Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen, while familiar faces like Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic, Rob Delaney, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna will be returning.

Levy and Reynolds are also serving as producers alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who is entering the franchise for the first time since Disney’s acquisition of Fox.

Recently, the film’s release date was moved up on Disney’s schedule from November 8 to May 3, 2024. This adjustment was made due to the WGA strike, which led to several other MCU titles having their release dates shifted.
