CNN has announced a new weekly prime-time show called “King Charles” featuring Gayle King and Charles Barkley.
While the show will touch on politics, Barkley emphasized that it will be nonpolitical. King expressed the desire to cover a range of topics and have good conversations without tearing each other down. The show will cover hard-hitting topics like gun control and lighter topics like food and pop culture, and will also feature personalities in the news.
The show is set to air on Wednesdays, beginning this fall and running through 2024. King and Barkley will continue their respective roles while working on the show.
CNN CEO Chris Licht promises that the show will deliver “culturally relevant programming and unique perspectives” with more information on the show’s focus to come in the following months.
