Captain America 4, the highly anticipated installment in the Marvel Studios franchise, has unveiled its new moniker. In an announcement made on Tuesday morning via their official Twitter account, Marvel Studios revealed that the film, featuring Anthony Mackie as the lead for the first time, will be titled “Brave New World.”
Accompanying the exciting news was a behind-the-scenes photo showcasing Mackie alongside Hollywood legend Harrison Ford. Continuing the narrative from “Avengers: Endgame” and the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” the film delves into the aftermath of these events. In “Avengers: Endgame,” Steve Rogers, portrayed by Chris Evans, passed on the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson, played by Mackie. Wilson, who had previously assumed the heroic identity of Falcon since “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in 2014, now takes up the mantle of Captain America.
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” series showcased Wilson grappling with the weighty responsibility of becoming the new Captain America. Alongside his ally Bucky Barnes, portrayed by Sebastian Stan, Wilson had to contend with the U.S. government’s creation of their own version of “Captain America” embodied by Wyatt Russell’s character, U.S. Agent.
Both Stan and Russell are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming Thunderbolts project, featuring a range of characters from various Marvel films, which has experienced delays due to an ongoing writers strike.

Co-written by Malcolm Spellman, the creative force behind “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and Julius Onah, who is also set to direct, “Brave New World” will continue Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America. Additionally, the film introduces Harrison Ford to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a role he has assumed following the demise of William Hurt’s character.
The movie will also mark the return of two characters from “The Incredible Hulk,” Samuel Sterns portrayed by Tim Blake, and Betty Ross played by Liv Tyler. Ford’s Thaddeus Ross will serve as the U.S. president within the story. The talented Shira Haas and Danny Ramirez are also part of the cast, while Carl Lumbly will reprise his role as Isaiah Bradley from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
With this exciting blend of established and new characters, “Brave New World” promises to deliver a thrilling and captivating continuation of the Captain America legacy.
