Brad Pitt made a thrilling appearance trackside at the British Grand Prix, where he is currently filming scenes for his highly anticipated Formula 1 feature film. The Academy Award winner delighted fans and graciously posed for photographs in the paddock at the iconic Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, England.
Pitt’s collaboration with former F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, as well as the involvement of F1 itself, has granted the all-star cast and crew unprecedented access to the sport.
According to CNN, Pitt and his co-stars will even film their own pitstop alongside the renowned track, adding an authentic touch to the forthcoming movie.
The Formula 1 drivers themselves expressed their excitement and admiration for Pitt’s presence during the official pre-race meeting at Silverstone. Lewis Hamilton, in particular, described it as “probably the best drivers’ briefing we’ve ever had.”
Not content with just being a spectator, Pitt also took to the track and reportedly reached speeds of up to 150mph, embracing the adrenaline-fueled nature of Formula 1. In the film, Pitt will portray a former driver making a comeback to the sport, partnering with actor Damson Idris (known for his role in “Snowfall”) as his teammate for a fictional F1 team.
Formula 1 has experienced a surge in popularity in recent years, with much credit attributed to the behind-the-scenes documentary series “Drive to Survive” produced by Netflix.
As the real-life drivers’ championship is led by Max Verstappen, the heightened interest in the sport creates an ideal backdrop for Brad Pitt’s Formula 1 feature film, generating even more anticipation among fans and enthusiasts alike.
